Emma Handy(I)

Emma Handy is a British actress best known for her roles in award-winning British television series such as Samantha Trappett in the ITV series (2015 - 2022) Doc Martin (2004), as Mrs Cook in the BBC series The Beaker Girls S1 & S2 (2021 - 2023), as Tracey Mellor in the ITV series William and Mary and her role as DC Paula McIntyre in the ITV drama series (2003 - 2008)Wire in the Blood (2002) in which she appeared for five seasons. Emma is the daughter of orchestral and session musician, the late Allen Handy, and ballet dancer Susan Handy. Emma is also known for her versatility as a stage actor, particularly in London's West End, where she has appeared in many award-winning plays including Nicholas Wright's 'Vincent in Brixton' where she originated the role of Anna Van Gogh at the National Theatre with Emily Blunt, which then transferred to the Wyndham's theatre and again to the Playhouse the following year, directed by Sir Richard Eyre; Flare Path with Sienna Miller and Sheridan Smith, directed by Sir Trevor Nunn and Moira Buffini's 'Handbagged' playing the young Queen Elizabeth II, amongst many others. Emma works extensively as a voice actor in Radio drama and Audio books.
