- Violinist and bandleader, active in the 1930's and 40's. Based for many years at the Grill Room of the Hotel Taft. Recorded prolifically for Bluebird, Vocalion, Okeh and Pathe Actuelle. His band's main attraction was vocalist Dolly Dawn, who eventually assumed leadership of the organisation under the banner of "Dolly Dawn & Her Dawn Patrol". As for Hall himself, he was once described by music critic George T. Simon as an affable man who resembled "a chief buyer in a men's clothing store" more than he did a bandleader.
