Biography

Cheryl Hall was born on July 23, 1950 in Whitechapel, London, England, UK. She was an actress, known for Citizen Smith (1977), Doctor Who (1963) and Dramarama (1983). She was married to Robert Potter and Robert Lindsay. She died on August 9, 2026.

She auditioned for the role of regular companion Jo Grant in Doctor Who (1963). Katy Manning was cast but producer Barry Letts subsequently cast her in a guest role in Carnival of Monsters: Episode One (1973).

She stood as Labour candidate for the Canterbury constituency in the 1997 general election.

Cheryl was the daughter of Lilian (nee Cole), a civil servant at the Royal Courts of Justice, and George Hall, a woodworker and market trader.

While studying at the Corona Theatre School in London, she worked as a cleaner to supplement her grant.

She attended Coborn School for Girls.
