Biography

David Haig was born on September 20, 1955 in Aldershot, England, UK. He is an actor and writer, known for My Boy Jack (2007), Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) and Two Weeks Notice (2002). He has been married to Jane Galloway since 2010. They have five children.

He was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1989 (1988 season) for Best Actor in a New Play for his performance in "Our Country's Good".

He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2013 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to drama.

I've been playing Jim Hacker in Yes, Prime Minister (2013), and although he is very different to Gerald [The Wright Way (2013)], both series feature a love of words, and entailed huge amounts of line learning for each recording.
