- Sister of actress Liane Haid.
- Brunette Austrian leading lady and dancer, the daughter of a violin maker. On screen from 1915 and at her peak during the 1920's. Usually cast as charming, vivacious Viennese girls. Died on the way to a theatrical engagement in Paris when her plane crashed near Lauterbach in the Black Forest in August 1938.
- The actress Grit Haid made her film debut already in 1915 but her real career began in the middle of the 20's and she became soon a popular actress.
- She was married to writer and producer Josef Than (1903 - 1985).
- Her sister Liane Haid was also an actress and went down in film history as the first Austrian movie star.
- Her engagements dropped off in the 30's.
