- Kazushi Hagiwara was born on April 4, 1963 in Nakano, Tokyo, Japan. He is a writer, known for Bakuen Campus Guardress (1994), Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy (2022) and Final Fantasy XI (2002).
- He is an enthusiastic fan of heavy metal music and "Dungeons & Dragons", using ideas from both of these in his stories.
- In 2012, he designed the armor for two jobs (Geomancer and Rune Fencer) in the 2013 Final Fantasy XI expansion Seekers of Adoulin.
- Is a high school drop-out, however he is a graduate from Tokyo Designer Gakuin College.
- He originally began as an assistant to manga artist Izumi Matsumoto.
