- Ted Arnbjörn Gärdestad was born in Sollentuna, Stockholms län, Sweden, to Margit Gärdestad and Arne Gärdestad. He was a singer and composer, known for writing numerous hits together with his lyric writing brother Kenneth Gärdestad. During the 70s, he was one of Sweden's biggest pop idols. He died on June 22, 1997 in Sollentuna.
