Ed Guiney is an acclaimed Irish film and television producer and Co-CEO of the Dublin and London-based production company. Best known for producing award-winning films like Room, The Favourite, and Poor Things, Guiney has earned three Academy Award nominations and built a global reputation for championing bold, original storytelling.
Guiney co-founded Element Pictures in 2001 with Andrew Lowe. Under their leadership, the company has grown into one of Europe's premier film and television production companies, with offices in Dublin, Belfast, and London. The company works across the development, production, exhibition, and distribution of both independent and mainstream projects.
His notable production credits span a wide variety of acclaimed feature films and TV series. In addition to Room and The Favourite, he is known for producing Yorgos Lanthimos' English-language projects including The Lobster, Kinds of Kindness, and Poor Things. In television, Guiney served as executive producer on the widely successful, BAFTA-winning adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People.
Throughout his career, Guiney's films and television productions have received numerous top industry honors, including multiple Academy Award nominations, BAFTAs, and a Golden Globe.
