- Silvio Guindane is a Brazilian director, actor, screenwriter, producer and playwright. He began his film career at the age of eleven in Como Nascem os Anjos (1996) (1996), directed by Murilo Salles. His performance in the film earned him awards at the Gramado and Brasília film festivals and marked the beginning of a career spanning more than three decades in the Brazilian audiovisual industry.
After building an extensive career as an actor, Guindane expanded his work into directing across theatre, short films and television. In 2023, he achieved national recognition with Mussum: O Filmis (2023), a biopic of Mussum (Antônio Carlos Bernardes Gomes). The film won seven Kikito awards at the Gramado Film Festival, including Best Film, and earned Guindane the Grande Otelo Award for Best First Feature Film Direction.
His directing credits include Wedding Games (2023), produced for Netflix; the documentary A primeira onda; and Crisálida, a family drama starring Leandro Hassum and Vinícius de Oliveira. Guindane also directed and co-produced Deixa a vida me levar, a biopic of Zeca Pagodinho starring actor and musician Mosquito. In television and streaming, he has directed productions such as O Dono do Lar (2019), Central de Bicos (2021), Bar do Gogó (2023), Vai que Cola (2013), Tô de Graça (2017), Clube Spelunca (2025) and Veronika com K (2025).
As an actor, he has appeared in more than forty feature films and worked with filmmakers including Carlos Diegues, Ricardo Elias, Sergio Bianchi, Sandra Werneck, Sergio Rezende and Daniel Filho. His career also encompasses work as a writer, showrunner and theatre director. From his debut as a child actor to his consolidation as a filmmaker, Guindane has become a consistent presence in the recent history of Brazilian cinema, television and theatre.
