Biography

Born in the northern Portuguese city of Porto, Rodrigo came to Lisbon in the late eighties to begin his career as a journalist. He graduated in Journalism (Comunicação Social) at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and soon started as a sports reporter at RTP, the public television station. In 1992 he was part of the pioneer team that launched the first private TV station in Portugal - SIC Televisão. Nowadays Rodrigo is the anchor of the 8 o'clock news "Jornal da Noite" at SIC, writes books, screenplays and theater plays. He is one the most accomplished professionals in the Portuguese journalism.

Grandnephew of João Guedes and first cousin once removed of Paula Guedes.

Son of Rodrigo Jorge Ferreira Guedes de Carvalho (b. 10 October 1943) and wife Laura Maria Rocha.

Father of Rodrigo de Moura Pinheiro Guedes de Carvalho (b. 1992) and Benedita de Moura Pinheiro Guedes de Carvalho (b. 1994), with his first wife.
