François Groult was born on 1 July 1952 in Cherbourg-Octeville, Manche, France. He is known for The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999), Mesrine: Killer Instinct (2008) and Léon: The Professional (1994). He died on 28 January 2011 in La Trinite-des-Laitiers, Orne, France.
