Biography

Jonathan Grossman

Overview

  • Born
March 27, 1969 · Mount Kisco, New York, USA

Mini bio

  • Born in New York to family of film/TV fanatics, Jonathan Grossman always had a love for entertainment. At 22, he graduated from Cornell University with a BA in music and moved to Los Angeles to become a rock star. (That's original!). In 1996, he met Laurie Gunning (now Grossman) and they formed the pop/folk outfit, Dogwood Moon. During their 5-year stint, Dogwood Moon performed over 1000 US and European shows, drove 150,000 miles and released 5 independent CDs.

In the summer of 2000, Jonathan decided it was time to move out of his touring mini-van and into a stationary home. With 15 years of musical experience and a penchant for computer technology, he bagged his road warrior days for the late-night life of a modern film/TV composer.

Since making the transition, Jonathan has met with great success. His first break came with the hit show Judging Amy (1999), which included several original songs. From producing independent CDs to composing network promos and jingles, Jonathan has kept focused on making music. Most recently, he was hired by fellow composer, Jerry Brunskill (Gerald Brunskill), to add his musical talents to the score of NBC's new action show, She Spies (2002).
