Leon Griffiths was born on February 15, 1928 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, UK. He was a writer, known for Minder (1979), Out of This World (1962) and The Secret of Monte Cristo (1961). He died on June 10, 1992 in London, England, UK.

Named Leon after Leon Trotsky by his mother.

Although he is probably best-remembered as the creator of the long-running and very popular "Minder" TV series, he was actively involved with the show only in its early days and became increasingly (and vocally) disenchanted with the course it took towards out-and-out comedy in its later episodes.
