Robert Greig was born on 27 December 1879 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was an actor, known for Sullivan's Travels (1941), The Lady Eve (1941) and Algiers (1938). He was married to Beatrice Denver Holloway. He died on 27 June 1958 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

On stage in Australia, performing in all major capital cities, 1912-21. Broadway debut in 1928. Specialised in pompous butlers and made some of his best films in the 1940&#39;s under the direction of comedy expert Preston Sturges.

Specialized in playing butlers and manservants in films after gaining notoriety playing servant roles in the Broadway productions of &quot;Animal Crackers&quot; and &quot;Tonight or Never.&quot;.
