Biography

Francis Greenslade was born on October 3, 1962 in Honiara, Solomon Islands. He is an actor and writer, known for Winners & Losers (2011), Shaun Micallef's Mad as Hell (2012) and Welcher & Welcher (2003). He has been married to Louise Greenslade since September 4, 1999. They have four children.

Attended Adelaide University, Australia with long-time friend and fellow comic, Shaun Micallef.

President of the South Australian Debating Association (SADA) in 1992, later becoming a member of SADA's Executive. A professional debater, he represented Adelaide University at the World Championships. He has also appeared on Australia's ABC Network's popular World Series Debates, arguing out such motions as That God Doesn't Have A Sense of Humour.

Was presented with the Best Speaker Award at the World Debating Championships in 1988. Has won many additional debating awards.

Francis Greenslade is the son of the entomologists Penelope Jean Macleod Greenslade and Philip John Marsh Greenslade. At age three he discovered a collembola, which belong to a class or subclass of the subphylum hexapoda, which are no longer considered to be, strictly speaking, "insects".

'In the beginning was the word and the word was...' Great beginning, nice build up to a punchline. But do we get 'In the beginning was the word and the word was... cheeseburger'? 'In the beginning was the word and the word was... ferret'? 'In the beginning was the word and the word was... karaoke machine'? All fairly funny words in their way, but no, the rip-snorter of a gag that God's put in is 'In the beginning was the word and the word was... God'. Not even the writers of Hey Dad! would have used that one.
