American vocalist of Italian parentage, one of eleven siblings. She performed on radio from the age of eight. Signed as a child actress at age thirteen by Joe Pasternak at Universal. Her film career was desultory and she later became a big band singer, first with Stan Kenton, then with Spike Jones who she went on to marry in 1949.
