Daughter of Meryl Streep and Don Gummer.

Played the same character, at a younger age, as her real-life mother, Meryl Streep, in the film Evening (2007).

Her mother, Meryl Streep, was pregnant with Mamie when she accepted her Best Actress Oscar for Sophie's Choice (1982) in 1983.

Mamie is a 2005 graduate of Northwestern University's School of Communications.

Married Benjamin Walker at her parents' home in Connecticut before 150 guests, wearing her maternal grandmother's wedding gown. Her guests included Claire Danes, Laura Linney and Tracey Ullman, and her two sisters Grace Gummer and Louisa Gummer were her bridesmaids.

Appeared as a Starbucks barista in a scene cut from The Devil Wears Prada (2006) that is included in the deleted scenes on the DVD.

Won a Theatre World Award in 2006 for her performance in "Mr. Marmalade".

Cast as "Cecile" in the 2008 Broadway production of Christopher Hampton's play "Les Liaisons Dangereuses". This is the play on which the movie Dangerous Liaisons (1988), starring Glenn Close, was based; Close played Gummer's mother in Evening (2007).

Mamie and her ex-husband Ben Walker (m. 2011-2013) met when they were both cast in the play Les Liasions Dangereuses on Broadway in 2008. This Roundabout Theater Company production also starred actress (and Mamie's family friend) Laura Linney.

Surprisingly, her favorite actress is not her mother Meryl Streep but Cate Blanchett. Streep is also a fan of Blanchette however. Streep presented the Best Actor award to Daniel Day-Lewis who in turn presented the Best Actress award to Blanchett.
