Biography

Paul Graetz was born on April 3, 1899 in Leipzig, Germany. He was a producer, known for Youth in Revolt (1938), Knave of Hearts (1954) and Devil in the Flesh (1947). He died on February 5, 1966 in Paris, France.

Died of a heart attack during the production of "Is Paris Burning"

Decorated with the Legion d'Honneur for his contribution to French cinema.

Surrendered his Austrian citizenship after the Anschluss and became an American citizen at the age of 37.

His 1947 film "Devil in the Flesh" was banned in some French-speaking areas of Canada, censured by the Legion of Decency and condemned by the critics of the New Wave movement.

Worked in Paris in the 1930's, producing through his own production company Transcontinental Films.
