- Ellie took her daughter to see the semi-finals of American Idol (2002) and while waiting in line they approached Carrie Underwood for an autograph, who immediately recognized her and exclaimed "Oh, my God! You're in Halloween 4: Final Cut (2001)!" Ellie's daughter was extremely impressed.
- Auditioned for the role of Alice in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) but lost the role to Lisa Wilcox that same year; both actresses auditioned to play Rachel in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) and Ellie ultimately won the roll.
