Assheton Gorton was born on 10 July 1930 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, UK. He was a production designer and art director, known for Blow-Up (1966), Get Carter (1971) and Legend (1985). He was married to Catherine Gayatri Huggins. He died on 14 September 2014 in Churchstoke, Powys, Wales, UK.

Studied architecture and art at the University of Cambridge and Slade School of Fine Art. Designed productions for the ITV anthology series &quot;Armchair Theatre&quot; before working on feature films.
