Biography

Peter Gorissen was born on April 20, 1955 in Anderlecht, Belgium. He was an actor and director, known for Fort Alpha (1996), Tangier (2006) and Thieves of the Wood (2018). He died on October 18, 2024 in Beveren aan de Ijzer, Flanders, Belgium.

He trained at the Faculty of People and Society in Turnhout as a Group Process Supervisor (1981-1983). Gorissen subsequently became a teacher himself, both at the Studio Herman Teirlinck and at the Conservatory of Antwerp and for courses in Amsterdam and Arnhem.

Peter Gorissen was a Flemish actor and theater director. He was the son of actor Peter Gorissen.

In 2010 he directed and performed the theater monologue Kermis in hell at the Theater Festival in Antwerp's Monty.

Gorissen graduated from the Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp (1973-1977) and trained in method acting at the University of California in Los Angeles: Master of Fine Arts in Acting (1979-1981).

He performed many theater performances, with roles in the plays Rocky Horror Show, Kapai-Kapai, Rats, Eendagswezens, Katarakt and Het Gezin van Pamel.
