- Gordon was credited as the first woman to be seen on colour television sets, as she took part in John Logie Baird's world's first colour transmission on 3 July 1938.
- Was due to be reinstated in Crossroads (1964) when she died.
- In 1974 she became the first woman to ever host the Royal Variety Performance.
- Added hair-dye to make her darker brown hair, a more reddish colour for all of her years in Crossroads. The hair colour showed up more on camera too, apparently.
