Won his first 35 fights in Mexico by knockout.

Won his first 52 fights in Mexico, 50 by knockout.

Lost The title to Japan's Guts Suzuki. Guts went on to an acting career and played a bad guy in the Micheal Douglas film, Black Rain.

Made a comeback in his 40s. Had one fight and retired.

Knocked out heavily favored Lightweight Champion Chango Carmona to win the World Boxing Council Worl's Lightweight Championship.
