Goldwyn, who as a Paramount executive had been working with Lorne Michaels since Wayne's World, stepped down from his post as Vice Chairman of Paramount Pictures in 2003 and signed a first-look deal with Paramount. Michaels also had a first-look with Paramount, and via their company, the duo produced the films Hot Rod, Baby Mama, The Guilt Trip, MacGruber, and Staten Island Summer for the studio. The company dissolved when Goldwyn's deal was terminated in 2014. Michaels remained at Paramount until 2018.
