Nick Glennie-Smith was born on October 3, 1951 in London, England, UK. He was a composer, known for The Rock (1996), We Were Soldiers (2002) and The Man in the Iron Mask (1998). He was married to Jan Glennie-Smith. He died on August 16, 2026 in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA.

His wife, daughter, and son are also musicians.

Played bass guitar while his wife played guitar and sang, opening the Melanie (Safka) concert at Gravity Lounge in Charlottesville, Virginia on June 11, 2005.

Began his professional career as a keyboard player, joining the progressive-rock group Wally in the 1970s and later performing or recording with artists.

Father of daughters Haley and Katharine, and sons Seth and Joss.
