Biography

James P (Jim) Gleason hails from Chicago but lives in LA.

"King Kong" (1933) was the movie that Inspired Jim to make movies. Upon his first viewing at the age of six, he promptly raced out to the front yard, climbed atop the fire hydrant and roared at passing cars until his mom called him back inside to clean up his dinosaurs. He still looks fondly at fire hydrants. And he can't pass a dinosaur museum without stopping in to say "Hi" to the old bones.

Jim built a portfolio of science fiction and comedy short films (utilizing stop motion animation and special effects) in high school, expecting to use it as a vehicle to launch him directly into film school.

Life got in the way, he became an IT professional.

Getting back on track, Jim attended USC's Graduate Cinema Program, culminating in "Antebody" his USC thesis short, which he took out on the festival circuit in 2005, screening 55 times at 43 festivals and events, collecting five honors and awards along the way.

Life got in the way. Again. He found himself back in the IT profession. Unfortunately, he was good at it. It took years to pull himself free.

Getting back on track, again, "Baby Blues - Going Dark" (a gruesomely dark comedy) is the first of three horror shorts expected within the year, hopefully leading to features in the near future.

Not related to James Gleason, the character actor. Has two children, Jennifer and Robert.
