Strong Manchester accent. Had a lisp, causing the letter "R" to become a raspy throaty sound.

For twelve years Gladwin worked as stooge to Dave Morris, working with Morris on the BBC radio show "Club Night", which transferred to television as The Artful Dodger (1959).

Spent 19 years as a stand up comedian.
