Mickey Gilbert was born on April 17, 1936 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He was an assistant director and actor, known for The Last of the Mohicans (1992), Waterworld (1995) and Metro (1997). He was married to Yvonne Yrigoyen. He died on February 5, 2024 in Camarillo, California, USA.

As stunt double for Robert Redford, it is Gilbert you see jumping off the high cliff into the river in the now famous scene from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, along with Howard Curtis, who was the stunt double for Paul Newman in this scene.

His wife is from a family of stuntmen, being the daughter of Joe Yrigoyen.
