Joanne Gilbert was born on July 17, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She was an actress, known for Red Garters (1954), The Great Man (1956) and The Outer Limits (1963). She was married to Edward L. Rissien and Danny Arnold. She died on April 16, 2025 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Signed to a seven-year contract by Paramount in November 1952.

She is the daughter of Ray Gilbert, the composer who, with lyricist Allie Wrubel, won an Academy award for Best Original Song for "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" in Song of the South (1946).

Stepdaughter of Janis Paige.

Performed as a singer at the Mocambo in Hollywood, appearing in Las Vegas, Miami and at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

On The Lone Wolf (1954) episode, The Beverly Hills Story (1955), as Louis Hayward and Rosemarie Stack (nee Bowe) are leaving the Macambo, the camera lingers on the marquee which displays the name of Joanne Gilbert.
