Biography

Ramón Gieling was born in 1954 in Netherlands. He was a director and writer, known for De gevangenen van Buñuel (2000), Erbarme dich - Matthäus Passion Stories (2015) and Over Canto (2011). He died on April 5, 2026.

Directed a 12-minute pilot of a film titled "Theresa Immaculata" in 2011 about a incestuous relationship between brother and sister, starring Matthias Schoenaerts, Sylvia Hoeks and Halina Reijn. The film was never made but a 7-minute video of the pilot can be found on Youtube.

In addition to directing films and documentaries, he was active as a theater maker and editor for the magazine Wolfsmond, which he founded himself in 1967. He also exhibited his work, consisting of drawings, photographs, and paintings, until 1987.

Ramón Gieling was a Dutch film director, screenwriter, and actor.

His career began in 1979 with the feature film "Vijand gevraagd".

Gieling attended the Arnhem Art Academy from 1971 to 1976, where he focused on painting and film.
