Biography

Rodney Gibbons

Mini bio

  • A graduate of the film program at Concordia University, I worked for many years as Director of Photography and Director. My DP feature film credits include the cult horror My Bloody Valentine (Paramount Pictures) and the Sci-Fi thrillers Screamers and Scanners 2 (Columbia Pictures). My Director credits include Little Men (Warner Bros) and a four-part Sherlock Holmes series for the Hallmark Channel. Whilst working as Director I also began screenwriting. During this time I wrote the final drafts of the first three films in the Sherlock Holmes series (The Hound of the Baskerville, The Sign of Four and Scandal in Bohemia) and wrote the script for the fourth film in the series (The Case of the Whitechapel Vampire). I was also Story Editor on the four-hour miniseries Race to Mars for Discovery Channel. I am now working solely on my own writing projects. The following are some comments from reviewers of my scripts from various screenwriting competitions. ''......This is one of the more intelligent comedies I have come across in some time." (Mysterious Ways) ''....I really enjoyed this sci-fi crime drama. There is a lot of inventiveness on display and the writer is clearly at the top of their craft." (Pelerino's Progress)
