  • Francisco Gozon is a Venezuelan-Hungarian filmmaker, with a strong social commitment and extensive experience in social and human rights issues, especially dealing with the rights of ethnic minorities. Promoter of film club movement in Venezuela has studied in the "Simon Bolivar University", Caracas, in the Cegra (Graphical Studies Center) and "SZFE" (academy of performing arts and film in Budapest).

    As cinematographer has worked in more than 20 feature, documentary and non-fiction films and as director has 3 fiction short films and 2 documentaries. His works have been awarded with several prizes at international film festivals. For two consecutive years, 1995 and 1996, wins the prize of "Best director of photography" at the yearly event "Hungarian Film Week"-Budapest.

    In March 1997 receives from the Hungarian State the "Balázs Béla" award for his contribution in Hungarian cinematography. He has been member of the board of both the "Balázs Béla Studio" in Budapest, (alternative film studio for young filmmakers) and VTV (Venezolana de Television) Venezuelan state official channel.

    In Venezuela, he co-founded PANAFILMS, socially committed production company from which develops audiovisual and educational work in Venezuela and Latin America.

    He has vast experience teaching DOP-s at SZFE (performing arts academy and film in Budapest), CISA (Locarno Film School, Switzerland) and BKF (Budapest College of Communication, Business and Arts)
