Biography

Peter Gerlach was born on February 25, 1938 in Coburg, Germany. He was a producer and production manager, known for Kommissar Rex (1994), Lieblinge unserer Eltern (1963) and Sein Traum vom Grand Prix (1968). He died on October 2, 2007 in Germany.

Creator or at least man behind such German TV highlights as The Black Forest Hospital (1985) or Das Traumschiff (1981) and also responsible for shows like Ein verrücktes Paar (1977) with Grit Boettcher and Harald Juhnke, "Musik ist Trumpf", Der grosse Preis (1974) or V.I.P.-Schaukel (1971) as well as for example Dieter Hildebrandt's Notizen aus der Provinz (1972).

From 1972 to 1980 head of the entertainment department of German TV Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF), since 1976 as vice director of programming.
