Patricia George

Overview

  • Born
    March 21, 1931 · New York, USA
  • Died
January 31, 1996 · Los Angeles, California, USA (lung cancer)
  • Birth name
    Patricia Fliegelman

Biography

  • Patricia George was born Patricia Fliegelman, the daughter of George J. Fliegelman Sr. and Ethel (née Luick) Fliegelman. She had a brother, George J. Fliegelman II (December 6, 1936-December 10, 2018).

Her father, who played basketball for the then New York Celtics using the name "Jigs Sullivan" was a lawyer, but was disbarred just after she began high school. Subsequently, he and some investors bought some land and he provided for his wife and two children by selling it off as cemetery plots.

During her childhood, Patricia and her family moved from Brooklyn to Pennsylvania and then to Ohio. When she grew up, she moved to California to pursue her passion, in acting.

She met Tony Miller, they married and, in 1958, she had a son, Kevin Miller. Her choice of stage name turned out to be prescient as she had a nephew, George J. III, and great-nephew, George J. IV
