Biography

Peter Gelb is known for Soldiers of Music (1991), Horowitz Plays Mozart (1987) and Great Performances (1971).

Visionary award winning documentary filmmaker, currently general manager of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. His most notable honors include six Emmy Awards for television production, and a Grammy for "Recording the Producers: A Musical Romp with Mel Brooks".

Son of Arthur Gelb and Barbara Gelb and grand nephew of Jascha Heifetz.
