She started her career in stage playing major and minor roles of different dramas and comedies in Flemish language at the Royal Antwerp Youth Theatre. She performed in them until she was 60, staying there for 39 years.and often playing .a boy.

Annie Geeraerts is a Belgian actress, known for her role as grandma Anna Dierckx in the Belgian longest running soap-opera Familie since 1991 until today.

For Annie Geeraerts, acting was a childhood dream, but one that only came to fruition after a difficult period. Annie's family worked in the bookbinding industry for generations, until the end of World War II. Due to the automation of the craft, the bookbinding industry went bankrupt, and in 1947, she had to find work. Her father saw that the Royal Dutch Theatre in Antwerp was looking for an actress. He thought Annie should take her chance.
