Philip R. Garrett
A woman struggles to hold her family together and maintain her dignity in the aftermath of the national financial crisis.

"Vivid and haunting in its realistic depiction of loss and the future, the film is a beautiful portrait of America on the fringe." - Mark Pellington, music video pioneer and Director of Survive, Blindspot, Arlington Road, and The Mothman Prophecies.

"'I'm just two paychecks away from being on the street.' In the aftermath of the nation's financial crisis, Mary, a single mom with two kids, finds herself faced with that exact situation when the factory where she works closes their doors for good. Providing for her children and keeping the family together, while also maintaining some form of dignity in the process, proves to be the hardest job that Mary will ever have." Winner, Best Feature, Glass City Film Festival.

Phil Garrett got his start in film at PDI/DreamWorks in VFX editorial and later, feature animation production management. After moving the Midwest in early 2000s, he moved into live action and has since produced independent features ranging from documentaries to horror, science fiction, action, realist dramas, and experimental and documentary shorts. He has shepherded projects as a creative producer, mentored emerging industry professionals, and served on advisory boards for performing arts programs and film commissions. In 2022, he joined Good Deed Entertainment and its genre label, Cranked Up Films, where he produces features and worked with the team to build and launch Cranked Up TV, an independent horror streaming service, for which he serves as curator and content manager.
