Dorothy Gardner was born on 22 July 1926 in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. She was a casting director, known for Lilies (1996), Gentle Sinners (1983) and Zero Patience (1993). She was married to David Gardner. She died on 8 August 2011 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Head of Casting CBC (1977-1988), recipient in 2001 of the Canadian Academy Achievement Award for her exceptional contribution to the Canadian Film and Television Industry.
