Streaming Stars, Then and Now

Peter Gammons grew up in Groton, Massachusetts. He attended the University of North Carolina, graduating in 1969, and then began his journalism career at the Boston Globe. He covered the Boston Red Sox for the Globe during most of the 1970s and 1980s. Gammons joined ESPN as a baseball analyst in 1988. He appeared regularly on Baseball Tonight (1990) and also made appearances on SportsCenter (1979). In 2009, he left ESPN and joined the MLB Network. Gammons was voted the National Sportswriter of the Year three times by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

Graduated from the Univeristy of North Carolina in 1969.

Regular contributor to ESPN&#39;s &quot;Baseball Tonight,&quot; which airs nightly
during the Major League Baseball season.

Winner of the 2004 J.G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious
contributions to baseball writing. Award was presented at the 2005
induction ceremonies at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Won the BBWA J.G. Taylor Spink Award for outstanding baseball writing in 2004.
