Survived breast cancer.

Two children with Michel Berger: daughter, Pauline (November 14, 1978 - December 18, 1997), and son, Raphaël (April 2, 1981 - ). Tragically, France lost both her husband and her daughter in the 1990s. Michel died of a heart attack in 1992, at age 44, and Pauline died of cystic fibrosis in 1997, at age 19.

Supported Lionel Jospin's 2002 presidential campaign.

Supports Coeurs des Femmes, a charity helping homeless women.

Her 1988 hit "Ella, elle l'a", a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, topped the charts in many countries.

Her first single "Ne sois pas si bête" ("Don't Be So Stupid") was first aired on her 16th birthday (1964).

Born to Robert Gall, a lyricist, and Cécile Berthier, daughter of Paul Berthier, the organist of Auxerre Cathedral until 1953 and co-founder of the boys' choir: Les Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois whose story was one of the sources of the movies La Cage aux rossignols (1945) and Les Choristes (2004).

God-daughter of Serge Gainsbourg.

Had relationships with Claude François and Julien Clerc who both had songs about their break ups.

Her maternal uncle is Jacques Berthier (1923-1994) who is a composer and organist. Both of her brothers twins Patrice and Philippe are also in show business.

Won the Naples 1965 (1965) for Luxembourg with the song "Poupée de Cire, Poupée de Son" which was written by Serge Gainsbourg (music and lyrics).
