  • Christine Fugate is an award-winning filmmaker whose work has been widely screened in theaters and on global channels. Christine has specialized in filming overseas, specifically in Malawi, Great Britain, and Australia. Her directing career started in narrative filmmaking at Five Star Productions in Bangkok, Thailand, where she directed and acted in films. Her film Tobacco Blues, a portrait of America's tobacco farmers, was screened on board Air Force One for President Bill Clinton and recently invited to the Library of Congress. Fugate's feature-length documentary The Girl Next Door on adult film star Stacy Valentine placed Christine on ShowBIZ Data's Top 100 Directors. Her most recent documentary, Queen Moorea, follows youth with rare genetic conditions and was recently screened at Slamdance 2023. Christine lives with a genetic disability and identifies as disabled. She is an Assistant Professor at the Dodge College of Film and Media at Chapman University, teaching directing and writing.
