Kathy Frye was born on August 6, 1928 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She was an actress, known for A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935), The Pinch Singer (1936) and Women in the Night (1948). She was married to Stanley Morrison Smith. She died on October 10, 1991 in Riverside, California, USA.

Kathryn Lou Frye has gone by many stage names such as Katherine Frye, Kathryn Frye, Kay Lou Frye, and Kathy Frye.

She was a dance partner with her brother Ted Frye known as the Adagio dance team "Ted and Kay". Both were Meglin Kiddies dancers.
