Leonard Freeman was born on October 31, 1920 in Sonoma County, California, USA. He was a writer and producer, known for Hawaii Five-O (1968), Route 66 (1960) and Hawaii Five-0 (2010). He was married to Joan Taylor. He died on January 20, 1974 in Palo Alto, California, USA.

The wife/widow of series creator Leonard Freeman (who died in 1974, age 53), was Joan Taylor (known after her marriage by her given first name, Rose, along with her husband's family name, Freeman, making her Rose Freeman), died on 3/4/2012, which was during the broadcast run of the second season of the Hawaii Five-0 (2010) reboot series. After her death, Joan Taylor (as Rose Freeman) was the dedicatee "In Loving Memory Of Rose Freeman" on the 3/19/2012 broadcast of this show.
