Composer, conductor, songwriter ("Percolator Twist", author and arranger, educated at the Cleveland Institute of Music (scholarship) and USC (Masters of Music degree). He conducted the United States Navy Band in Peru, Indiana between 1942 and 1945., later conducting at the Hollywood Bowl. He wrote for films and arranged and conducted for Bobby Vee and Gene McDaniels, and also led his own orchestra. He joined ASCAP in 1959, and his other popular-song compositions include "Beautiful Obsession" and "Jiving Around".
