Biography

Christopher Frayling was born on December 25, 1946 in Hampton, Middlesex, England, UK. He is a writer, known for Strange Landscape (1995), Nightmare: The Birth of Victorian Horror (1996) and The Face of Tutankhamun (1992). He has been married to Helen Snowdon since December 14, 1981.

A scholar and prolific writer of books on popular culture, including Sergio Leone & his spaghetti westerns, for which he has provided audio commentary on DVD, vampires, Frankenstein (1931) (on which he is a foremost authority) and classic Universal horror films.

He was awarded Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire in the 2001 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to art and design education.
