- Nikos Foskolos, of Robert and Erifili, was a contemporary Greek writer, novelist, screenwriter and radio and theater critic, film and television director. He studied Political Science at the University of Athens, but without receiving a degree. He initially worked as a journalist, (in the 1950s-1960s), in the newspapers Embros and Independent Press doing freelance and artistic reporting and writing film reviews. From a very early age he was engaged in writing detective novels.

- He created some of the most popular and longest-running soap operas of Greek television. He is credited with popularizing the genre in the 1990s.
- Several of his films and television series depicted the characters speaking in rather pompous proclamations and monologues. Foskolos' pompous style of writing was often parodied in comedy plays and television series.
