Biography

Mary Ford was born on July 7, 1924 in El Monte, California, USA. She was an actress, known for Speed Racer (2008), Casino (1995) and Carol (2015). She was married to Les Paul and Donald Hatfield. She died on September 30, 1977 in Arcadia, California, USA.

She and Les Paul were awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 1541 Vine Street in Hollywood, California.

First started singing for a high school radio station, subsequently took up playing guitar and made her breakthrough on the Jimmy Wakely Radio Show, guesting Gene Autry in 1944. With her husband Les Paul, became one of the top musical singing duos of the 1950s. They had two #1 national hits with "How High the Moon" and "Mockingbird Hill".

A daughter--born prematurely in 1954--died four days after her birth.
