Biography

Hulbert Footner was born on April 2, 1879 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He was a writer, known for The Dangerous Blonde (1924), Ramshackle House (1924) and Youth to Youth (1922). He was married to Gladys Marsh. He died on November 25, 1944 in Lusby, Maryland, USA.

Prolific author and playwright.

Worked on newspapers in Canada and New York.

Began as a writer of adventure and detective novels.

Later in life he turned to writing about Maryland and its countryside.

Remembered for his play "Shirley Kaye" and his critically acclaimed book "New York: City of Cities".
