He was a production designer and art director, known for El niño y la niebla (1953), La culta dama (1957) and Cuando levanta la niebla (1952). He was married to Diane Subervielle de Fontanals. He died on 26 July 1972 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico.
