- Vladimir Fogel was born in 1902 in Moscow, Russian Empire [now Russia]. He was an actor, known for By the Law (1926), The Adventures of the Three Reporters (1926) and Chess Fever (1925). He died on June 8, 1929 in Moscow, Russian SFSR, USSR [now Russia].
- Fogel's ashes are interred at New Donskoye Cemetery in Moscow, Columbarium 2, Section 12, Row 2, Niche 308.
- His father was a German immigrant who settled in Moscow.
- Struggled with mental illness. In 1928, after making four films back-to-back, Fogel suffered a breakdown and withdrew from the public eye. When he ended his life the following year, he was only 26 or 27.
- Lev Kuleshov, who taught Fogel at the National Film School and directed him in three features, called Fogel the best screen actor of their generation.
